2017 ACADEMY CRAFT SHOW

The Academy Art Museum Craft Show in October 2018 will be branded as Dazzled.  In it’s 21st year, the show will again be an indoor, juried craft show featuring approximately 70 artists from across the United States. This year the Museum celebrates its 60th anniversary and the Craft Show will play an important role in our annual festivities.

In 2017 approximately half of the artists were participating for the first time. Many of our artists return year after year and nearly 50% have participated in the three most recent shows. Over 2,500 people attended the weekend event, including the opening night Preview Party. The show highlighted the works of three featured ceramic artists, as the theme of the craft show was “Blown Away.” On display in the Atrium of the Museum during the show were the works for ceramicist Bennett Bean, our 2017 Visionary Artist and Honorary Chair. This year the featured medium will be jewelry and the theme will be “Dazzled” in celebration of the Museum’s diamond anniversary.
